Magura DirtyBike Throttle Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
This page is to help you troubleshoot your DirtyBike Magura throttle for Sur-Ron, Talaria, E Ride Pro or Rawrr. If you are having trouble with throttle errors or the bike not starting and you suspect the throttle, please check these things first.
Note: Before our throttles leave our facility they are calibrated and dynamically tested for the proper idle and wide open voltage. This assures the throttle will work properly when you install it.
Please do not disassemble your Magura throttle!
After calibration we install a tamper indicator seal. If you disassemble the throttle it will not be possible to reassemble it with the correct calibration. If the throttle is disassembled it will require it to be returned to us and recalibrated. This will only cost $20 but you must pay for shipping both ways.
Here are a few suggestions to help you diagnose your throttle issue.
- Check if the bike is showing any error codes. If so, consult the fault code chart in your owners manual to further diagnose the problem.
- Check that your grip is not too tight to the housing causing the throttle to not close completely. Try pushing the throttle closed while you start the bike.
- Check for bad connectors, loose pins or damaged wires on the bikes wire harness.
- Check for wear spots on the throttle wire. If you see any abrasion wear or exposed wires stop using the bike immediately!
- If you purchased our throttle to fix a problem and the problem still exists, it is probably not the new throttle.
If this all checks out and you are still having a problem you can send it directly to us and we will put it on the test bench and ensure it works properly.
